Project description:

A new logistics and support centre, designed by Candio&Büttler Architketen.

 

The building is located in Niederbuchsiten, Solothurn, and is the European Headquarters for the Swiss brand Jura, founded in 1931. Jura is currently best known for its fully automatic espresso machines. Role: The brief included to test and develop a concept pattern using a coffee bean motif, as part of the Jura branding. This included to sketch facade and form studies /testing design options for cladding sizes and cladding orientation, to articulate a facade over 100m long. Printed prototypes were developed from small A4 panels, to a site mock-up.
